Our first ER experience.....

Yes, we can now officially say we visited the ER with Silas. We all have been battling some illness out here and sure enough, Silas got it also. Of course, it had to happen on the weekend, go figure. Saturday, he had a fever, but it finally broke in the afternoon. However, Saturday night he didn't sleep well and we were hoping and praying that we could make it until Monday. Well, Sunday night was even worse. He was gasping for air and nothing seemed to help. At 1:30 am (monday), we are all exhausted and trying to figure out what we do. So, we called the nurse number here in the Springs and they recommended taking him to the ER based upon his symptoms. So, we all bundled up and got to the hospital about 2:00 am. They gave him breathing treatments and steroids to help, and there we sat for 2 hours........ Finally they let us go home, so we got home at 6:00 am. Kurt took a brief nap and then left for work around 8:00, so he had a very long day on Monday. Silas and I also had a long day on Monday, as all he wanted to do is be held. But we made it through.

Kurt (thankfully) was able to be Mr. Mom on Tuesday as I went to work since I had missed a day last week with me being sick. Kurt was able to take Silas to the doctor and get him checked over again. The doctor said he is no longer contagious and he had a bad case of the croup. Kurt and Silas had a nice day on Tuesday hanging out, but back to reality on Wed. Kurt and I both were at work and Silas went to childcare. He appears to be doing much better, although he is still battling the cold. I'm hoping this weekend, we will all be able to kick this sickness. Please pray for our health out here, we would greatly appreciate it.
